Brazil Digital Nomad Visa: Requirements
What you need to qualify for the Brazil Digital Nomad Visa — income, documents, and the fine print that trips people up.
Brazil's Digital Nomad Visa, introduced in 2022, offers one of the more accessible entry points into South America's largest economy, with a notably lower income bar than several European programs on this list.
Requires proof of remote employment or freelance income above a set threshold — under Resolução Normativa CNIg nº 45/2021, that's $1,500 USD/month in foreign income, or alternatively $18,000 USD in available savings if your income doesn't arrive in even monthly amounts. You only need to satisfy one of the two routes, not both.
Unlike some programs, Brazil's visa doesn't require a minimum education level or years of experience — the qualification is centered on the income proof itself.
- Proof of remote income — $1,500/month foreign income, or $18,000 in savings as an alternative route, per Resolution 45/2021
- Valid passport
- Health insurance valid in Brazil
- Clean criminal record
