Barbados Welcome Stamp: Requirements
What you need to qualify for the Barbados Welcome Stamp — income, documents, and the fine print that trips people up.
Barbados's Welcome Stamp, launched in 2020, was one of the first dedicated nomad visa programs anywhere in the world — a genuine pioneer of the category rather than a later entrant following the trend other countries set.
Requires proof of remote income above a published annual threshold, generally straightforward relative to some newer, more document-heavy programs. That threshold is $50,000 USD/year from sources outside Barbados — worth noting directly, since a meaningfully lower figure circulates in some secondary content and is simply wrong.
As one of the original pandemic-era programs, Barbados's process is comparatively well-tested at this point, with several years of real-world applicant experience behind it.
- Proof of annual remote income — $50,000 USD/year from foreign sources, confirmed and unchanged as of 2026
- Valid passport
- Health insurance valid in Barbados
